I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. There are seven spheres of influence in America – Government, Media, Arts & Entertainment, Business, Education, Religion and Family. This week we pray for the Government
v Pray for those in authority and for more godly men and women to rise up and take their place in positions within government across our nation. “When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice” (Proverbs 29:2). Pray that those Christians God has chosen will heed the call and run for office. Pray that they will be elected even against strong opposition.
v Pray that the Spirit of the Lord will be on the following:
o Federal Government: Executive, legislative, and judicial branches
o State Government: Executive, legislative, and judicial branches
o Local Government: Executive, legislative, and judicial branches, as well as police and first responders
o Military: Pray for leaders, divine protection for our troops, and courage and dependence on God.
Jeremiah Johnson in his book, Trump and the Future of America, published in 2020, reveals the strongholds and principalities at work in high places so believers can rightly pray and appropriately intervene. God revealed two areas of concern to him about President Donald J Trump. One is humility, stating that he is in great danger of becoming a Nebuchadnezzar. The other is for an increase in the strategic placement of godly men and women around our President who will faithfully deliver the word of the Lord to him as he seeks to guide our nation in the days ahead.
